  1. This is a great post, Sue. I agreed with your comment about boys. My boys are as considerate as the girls, too. They are protective and never let me carry things. They also do 'girl' chores like washing. Your post has led to some lovely reflections - thank you!
    God bless:-)

    1. Vicky,

You are so kind leaving a comment here as well as one on my unschooling blog! Did I ever tell you what a thoughtful sister you are?

Yes! Boys are so protective. I love how mine look after me too.

We've been reading a series of books associated with the Little House ones. In those pioneering days there were definitely 'girl' jobs and 'boy' jobs. In our house only the jobs like fixing the car (the girls aren't interested!) and heavy lifting are regarded as boy jobs. The rest are shared between girls and boys. It sounds like it's the same in your house. I think our boys are just as well prepared for life on their own as the girls.

      God bless!

  3. Sue, I needed to hear this message today. My kids have noticed that my "in a minute" stretches to days! You give me hope that they will want to help cheerfully with good example. Thank you.

    1. Anabelle,

Mothers and children must measure time differently. My minutes are very long too! Thank you for hopping over and reading my chore post. I appreciate it!
